Reformer

“Nothing will work unless you do.” Maya Angelou
Reformer

“I really like the combination of stretching your body and the sense you’re getting a ‘proper’, sweat-inducing workout.”
Tom, London

LIMBER is able to offer clients exclusive access to this specialist Pilates apparatus, installed in Amy’s home studio clinic. A Reformer is essentially a carriage which moves under the client’s control, using springs and motion to provide varying levels of resistance and stability. Through guided movement, the whole body, the breath and the mind are focused on the motion. Reformer Pilates is exciting, fun, difficult, adaptable and super-effective.

Optimal human movement is to move with ease, intention and efficiency. Whether seeking to restore this ability or improve our body’s capacity, the incredible human body has ability to adapt and change. Physiotherapy and Pilates work on these principles. Movement on a Reformer is another way to harness our physical potential and channel that into movement with grace, intention and efficiency. Combining strength, balance, control, rhythm and breath work, the client will flow through different movements and sequences identified and carefully tailored to the individual’s needs and goals. Reformer sessions on an Allegro II are available at Amy’s home clinic studio in Lewes on a one to one basis. An initial assessment session will provide opportunity to explore needs, goals, abilities and experience movement on the Reformer.

FAQs

How long is a Reformer session and how much does it cost?
After the first assessment and introductory session, the duration is flexible and depends on your preferences and ability. Prices start from £45 for a 30 minute session and extended sessions are available; £60 for a 45 minute session and £75 for up to an hour. Many clients find that 45 minute one to one is often the best balance. For regular and prepaid sessions, cost saving bundles are available.
Can I use the Reformer as part of my physiotherapy?
As part of your physiotherapy assessment, we explore treatment approaches. Exercise based rehabilitation can work brilliantly on a Reformer and can certainly be made specific if it something you want to incorporate. On completion of physiotherapy, many clients enjoy and value the Reformer or Pilates as an exercise form that helps keep them fit, strong and conditioned.
Can I ‘mix up’ my one-to-one Pilates and Reformer?
As the session is one to one and entirely individualised, we can combine and vary your Pilates sessions with the Reformer. This is one of benefits of one-to-one Pilates and certainly keeps sessions interesting, fresh and challenging.
