Covid-19 Policy
Covid-19 policy update:
Throughout the Covid-19 pandemic, LIMBER has operated in accordance with the latest government policy and advice. Further guidance and specific implementation practice have been provided through the regulatory body, the Health and Care Professionals Council, and the physiotherapy professional body, the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy.
The updated situation allows for face to face services. Virtual services are still available and encouraged where appropriate. There is no mandate to wear a facemask. However, if you choose to and would like the therapist to wear a mask too, this can be requested.
Appointments should be cancelled if the client has Covid 19 symptoms and home visits will not go ahead if a member of the client’s household has Covid 19.
LIMBER APROACH TO COVID POLICY
LIMBER continues to take its role seriously in minimising the risk of Covid-19 transmission. A risk-assessed and a ‘virtual first’ approach has been employed through the pandemic. Both face-to-face and virtual (telephone or video call) appointments are available now.
Covid-19 health screening of all patients prior to initial face-to-face appointments.
Appropriate level of PPE worn by the physiotherapist based on client health screening, environmental risk assessment and contact necessity. Currently there is no mandate for PPE. Personal choice for mask wearing can be exercised by the client and a risk assessed judgement by the therapist.
Client scheduling to allow sufficient time between appointments for cleaning, disinfection (and PPE change if appropriate).
Appropriate cleaning protocols implemented for equipment and identified surfaces.
Hand sanitisation at the start and end of each session.
Optimum ventilation in our locations.
Class design compliant with government guidance.
Risk assessment across all service delivery settings.
To engage in a Covid-19 health screening prior to initial face-to-face appointments.
To cancel the appointment and not attend if...
you have any symptoms of Covid-19, specifically, a new, continuous cough, a temperature, a loss or change to your sense of smell or any suspicion of Covid 19 strain specific traits.
you've tested positive for coronavirus
someone in your household has symptoms of Covid or is awaiting a test or has tested positive (particularly pertinent for home visits).
if you have returned from a location that requires a period of quarantine.
To use hand sanitiser or wash hands before the session.
To wear a face mask or a face covering if you wish to.
To keep items brought with you to a minimum.
To attend on your own unless a chaperone or career is needed.
Provide their own mat, towel and water and small equipment if desired. It is advisable for clients to clean their own items ASAP.
Respect any current guidelines for social distancing requirements at all times. There are no current social distancing requirements in place.
Teaching methods in class settings have been changing in response to the pandemic. There are currently no restrictions on disrancing or contact thought a risk assessment aproach is ongoing. In the past, teaching has been verbal, and social distancing has been maintained by the physiotherapist (unless appropriate PPE has been worn by the physiotherapist).
It is the individual client’s choice regarding the use of a facemask whilst exercising in a group.
Be aware that these measures are dynamic and responsive.
Thank you for helping each other and keeping our communities safe.
